Have you ever read those children’s books about a character building something? Pound pound…..ziiiiip, ziiiiip…….clank, clank………Kachunk!

“Dave, they are building something across the street from our hotel in Los Angeles…………… all night,” I wonder what they are building out there…..all night?

“Wow! Look at that crane……..outside our window!”

Wow! There is a whole freeway overpass in process out there, all night and all day!

And this is what you do when you can’t get the light to turn off. Efficiency at it’s best!

I should have loosened the cap!

After a good night of sleep, inspite of the construction project outside our window, we opted to go to the actual cafe location we ordered dinner from last night. It is a unique fitness system covering working out, medical options and a cafe with great food!

I was curious about the machine on the right. I have seen them before, but did not remember what their actual purpose was. Turns out it is an OxeFit XP I. It replaces traditional weight stacks and plates. with robotic digital resistance generators by electric motors. You too can own one starting at $40,000 dollars!

There is a cafe portion with excellent food,

So how much is this gym/health experience you ask? Which membership level would you like? The. amounts in the first column are the monthly rate and the second column is the yearly option. Care to join? It is called Live Love and in El Segundo, just in case.

They did make a good coffee though!

And of course the food photos……..

Interesting utensil combination……creative use of two knives?

And may I say, ‘b0y are we in Los Angeles!” The guy across the table was having a business meeting online, while the. gentleman in the greenish shirt was on a business call and ………

And of course the come as you are business attire.

Delicious meal!!! So, which plate setting belongs to whom?

On the way back from the very upscale gym and cafe, we passed this great looking driving range, in the city. The fencing was enormously tall! All in El Segundo??

Here we go! We are ready for our many, many hour flight…..in our little cubby. This is where the time and days get confusing. I think we leave on a Tuesday and get there on a Thursday? But I am not quite sure.

After we returned to the hotel via Lyft, we packed up in ready for our ride to the airport, curtesy of Emirates. The chauffeur was super friendly and, of course, an excellent driver.

Such service!

LAX ~

It was fairly uncrowded for LAX. The usual darting cars and lined up vehicles waiting to drop off their passengers. Our driver, who had a very cool name that I cannot remember, was extraordinary helpful.

He drove off and we started to proceed into the terminal to find the check-in. Dave noticed that our driver was back and stopped in the lane. Turns out not only did Dave have his phone, but he also had taken the drivers phone in error!

Onward to check in and TSA.

The lines were not too bad at all!

We decided to take advantage of the Emirates Lounge on the 6th floor. It was very lovely and very relaxing; with some amazing food1

We chose a spot over in the corner with comfy chairs and a great view of everything.

And I just love these little jars. I did not need any ketchup or mayo so I did not take one, but I wanted to!

I was going to skip the dessert options but Olive Oil Chocolate Cake with carmemlized cumquats and basil micro greens what just too much to resist. It beckoned coffee, but there was only the push button brew so we opted for not. Yes I know! Coffee snob…….

We were all set to go wait at the boarding area when the consierre told us to wait for a bit….until they called for passengers to board. Well, OK. We went back to our comfy corner. In about 10 minutes the special treats below were brought to us as a surprise. Tasty strawberries with delicious chocolate and nuts. I particularly liked the Happy Anniversary and Congratulations. They found out about our anniversary trip from Dave in the context of a conversation while getting out passes. So nice!!

On to our flight to Dubai! We have never been on this type of plane before. It is huge with I believe 3 levels.!

Fun and lovely perks…….with internet if even slightly slow.

Quite a smooth and quick take off considering the size of this plane! With the recognizable tower in the backround.

Such a beautiful view of California’s spectacular coastline.

Amazing views of God’s Creation!

When we wake up tomorrow, after what I hope is a good sleep, we will be much closer to Dubai. Although I think it will be night there? I decided to not even try and figure out the time and date changes. I think I will be thankful for the 14 hour lay over!!

So until tomorrow or the next day or …….I just know we will be 11 hours and 1 day ahead!
